Healthier Babies
Introduction
The wars of the twentieth century and their aftermaths ( The effects of food shortage on human reproduction ) demonstrated that the health of women before pregnancy affects the health of their babies. All the works on this website are concerned with the health before a conception of both men and women. The highest susceptibility to damage in the human life cycle is in the period immediately before ovulation during a woman's follicular phase. A second period of high susceptibility to damage is the 48 hours immediately following fertilisation. Susceptibility diminishes during pregnancy as the baby grows.
